about me
HI, I’M REBECCA,
I am a counselling therapist, mother, storyteller, messy perfectionist and big feeler. I get a kick out of working with sensitive humans who want to change their relationship with anxiety, heal relational trauma and move through grief and transition more intentionally.
As a mother of two young boys I feel especially called to help women navigate the profound transition into motherhood, especially when faced with overwhelming emotions or depression.
I am passionate about celebrating and supporting everyday humans, especially those who think they don’t deserve it, feel unseen or struggle to see their value. I understand what it’s like to believe you’re not enough. I spent most of my teen years and early adult life believing I needed to be special, extraordinary and achieve great things academically in order to be worthy of love and connection.
After many failures, life transitions, self-reflection, becoming deeply curious about my emotional patterns, practising mindfulness and connecting vulnerably in supportive community spaces, I now lovingly accept all that I am. I know that I have value because of how I show up not because of what I achieve or who I impress. I also know that my sensitivity is my greatest gift.
So hello there, fellow traveller.
I can’t wait to find out how I can uniquely support, wherever you may be on this life-journey.
WHO I SUPPORT
I support everyday humans who are struggling to be in their bodies or move through a challenging loss or transition.
I am here to accompany you as you dealing with the impacts of trauma, anxiety, overwhelming emotions or grief.
HOW I WORK
My private practice is grounded in transpersonal psychology, family-systems theory, somatic, embodiment and mindfulness perspectives. I adapt my treatment to suit each individual’s needs but believe a holistic, whole-body and relational approach is key to healing and growth.
MY TRAINING
In addition to a diploma in transpersonal counselling, I am trained in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy . I have experience as an assistant teacher for Clearmind International’s three-year counselling training program, where I shared my passion for counselling psychology and experiential learning.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism and spent much of my career writing for newspapers and magazines. I still love to write about mental health, personal development, parenthood and community.
MY CREDENTIALS
I am trained as a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC) registered with the ACCT (Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada). Registration #2587.
